Is cloud synchronisation the same as a backup?
Explain it like I'm 16
Synchronisation keeps copies aligned. A backup gives you a way to recover data after something goes wrong. A service can offer both, but they are different jobs.
A real-world example
You accidentally overwrite a report. A synced copy may contain the same mistake; an earlier backed-up version could let you recover the original.

Common misunderstanding
Having files on two devices does not automatically protect against mistakes that synchronise to both.
